Background
Mr. Wael Sabra began his career with BAT in 2003 and over the course of the following 21 years, Mr. Sabra held several significant senior positions within the financial department while working for BAT across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. In addition to being a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), he has a Master's degree in Finance from the University of Florida and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut. Also, he is a certified Prince 2 project manager.
Date of appointment to BATB Board
On 29th March 2023, Mr. Wael Sabra was appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Board of Directors of BAT Bangladesh. Subsequently, he became the Chairman on 1st August 2024.
Achievements
He joined BAT in 2003 as a Marketing Finance executive in Lebanon. Over the course of the following 7 years, he performed a number of significant roles and in 2010 he was elevated to Finance Director in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
After having moved to South Africa in 2012, he obtained the position of Finance Director, Southern African Markets. He relocated to Cairo as the North Africa Area Finance Director in July 2014.
Mr. Sabra moved to Pakistan in 2016 to take up the position of Finance Director for the South Asia cluster. In 2019, he took up the position of Area Head of Finance for the Middle East, South Asia and North Africa.
At the moment, Mr. Sabra is serving as the Area Director, based in Dubai, for Middle East, North Africa, Caucasus, Central Asia and Pakistan.
